Over the years,I’ve had the pleasure of shooting weddings in some of the most beautiful wedding venues in Ireland. Here is a selection of my favourites….
What’s not to love about this amazing 17th Century castle. It’s set on a 17acre estate with the River Glyde running through the beautiful grounds, the perfect backdrop for romantic photographs. You can hire out the entire castle for your wedding party! The castle itself is filled with beautiful furniture and stunning bridal suites, the perfect venue for your special day.
2. Cabra castle
This fairytale castle is set on 100 acres of parkland and gardens. Inside the castle itself you will find a beautiful sweeping staircase….perfect for your gone with the wind moment. Upstairs is the most exquisite drawing room stuffed with antique furniture and huge Windows. Another lovely touch is the resident piper who pipes your arrival at the castle.
This wonderfully intimate venue is just perfect for your special day. It has extensive grounds featuring a beautiful fountain. I’ve even had a bride climb into the fountain wearing wellies for a photograph! Inside they will host your drinks reception in the luxurious library room.Their friendly staff are always on hand to ensure every element of your wedding day goes perfectly!
This hip and chic Hotel is Situated right in the heart of the city overlooking the river Liffey. They have a private inner courtyard garden where your drinks reception is hosted. The staff in the Morrison are simply amazing and so helpful ensuring your day goes perfectly. You also have the whole city on your doorstep with both picturesque and urban settings for photographs where you can create beautiful and unforgettable memories. I photographed one wedding where the happy couple and all of their guests released 100 red balloons off the Millenium bridge….how special is that!
5. Carton House
Carton House is simply stunning, and is one of the finest wedding Hotels in Ireland. The house both inside and out just wraps itself around you with stunning vistas over the surrounding countryside. The bridal suite is out of this world and the Baroque Gold Room in the main house is a beautiful setting for your civil ceremony. As for photographs I was spoiled for choices with the house itself as a dramatic backdrop, the quaint boathouse and lake on the grounds and of course the bridal suite where we had some fantastic window light and my very tall handsome American groom climbed into the roll top bath for some fun shots!
These guys really know how to host the ultimate wedding. They offer two different reception rooms, Ballyna house, a palatial mansion which caters for up to 100 guests or the chic and contemporary hotel which caters for up to 270 guests. The hotel and house are situated in beautiful countryside. The house has a number of exquisite rooms where you can host your drinks reception. The staircase is just beautiful. They also go to a lot of trouble with little props scattered around the whole house Outside there are too many nooks and crannies to mention for photographs and did I mention the fantastic staff!
Nestled in the Wicklow countryside this gorgeous country house is the perfect location for your special day. The gardens and woodland driveway are just magical. I’ve just photographed a winter wedding here and the hotel was lit by candlelight with log fires burning to welcome guests, a true fairytale setting and yet is located just five minutes off the M50. They also have a wonderful spa perfect for some pampering for the ladies! I’m actually going to stay there myself in the coming weeks.
Killashee is set amongst wild woodland walks and blooming gardens. It is a perfect venue for your special day. It’s sweeping driveway is quite spectacular perfect for your grand entrance. They have two gorgeous wedding venues for you to choose from each equally beautiful. Once again for photographs this hotel has it all, from the the most stunning gardens to the amazing backdrop of the house itself it truly is romantic!
Situated in Meath, Dunboyne castle Hotel is the perfect mix of a chic modern hotel alongside a picturesque Georgian house. They offer a number of different options where you can host your ceremony depending on guests attending all equally beautiful. The drawing room in the old house is wonderful, I used it for family photos with studio lights and my grooms were delighted with the results. They also have beautiful gardens complete with a pagoda to add even more romance.
The Station House hotel in Meath is one of the most romantic settings for your special day. The old Carriage House is now a wonderful wedding suite where you can host the day of your dreams. Weather permitting they also have a purpose built outdoor seating area nestled in the woods to host your ceremony in. The extensive gardens are filled with hidden pathways and fairy lights to make your day even more special. If that isn’t enough the bridal suite is situated in the actual old station house itself, completely separate from the hotel……magical!
